I attended CR England's truck driving school in August 2007 It was a 3 week training period which was way too short and crammed for a student without any truck driving experience. They do rush you, they also expect you to learn to drive these truck for the most part on your own. You are basically renting a tractor trailer to practice on for $1000 per week, thats $3000 which is roughly the cost of your tuition if you have to finance. $75 per check to pay it off. After passing a half-*** driving exam given to you by instructors certified by the state to administer CDL tests, who also happen to work for CR England, you pass your test. They then have you go out with a trainer for about 3 weeks who at best will give you some tips and thats it. They do make you go out with a lease operator after that for an additional 3 weeks to "learn about the lease program". Don't be surprised if you get into a truck and this person has as much if not less experience than you do driving a truck as CRE allows their lease operators to obtain students immediately after completing their training and signing a lease. The whole experience was annoying at best. I went to a military school for 3 years when I was younger and enjoyed that very much, this is a bit painful in contrast. I still drive for CRE as a company driver, I will get some experience and move on. #1 you are a number. #2 don't expect to have any decent amount of money for about 2-3 months. #3 don't sign a lease unless you have prior experience.
