Terminated due to an accident and poor training

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had a same direction side swipe with no injuries and no citations, a no-fault accident.

I was allowed to 'complete' my training hours and set for the road and backing evaluation. Problem is, I was trained in a 10-speed international for 6 weeks. For the eval i was put into an 8-speed Freightliner. The shift patterns are reversed. So, I failed my shifting eval. Next, i bumped a curb during road eval which is an auto fail.

The next part is the Backing in Confined space eval. My trainer in 6-weeks only let me do 5 or 6 backing maneuvers. It took me an hour to get that *** trailer into the spot. Auto Fail again. Why he put me through that when had already failed is beyond me. They sent me home for the weekend and I had to call them to find out my disposition. Termination. They had me sign no paperwork, did not email me any paperwork stating that I had been termed. It was with my training coordinator over the phone.

I am trying to find out where i can get a copy of the contract, because I was told by another trucking company that I am still under the work contract to them.

and Like another gentle man posted on here, it was only a few hours before Eagle Financial called me about making payments to that contract.

So here I am, Stuck, probably under a dead contract and not trained to continue my quest with my husband in the trucking industry.

His story is just as bad as mine. Another post. :(

i have a lawyer who can get you out of the illegal financial agreement they had you sign,,located in Bristol ,Pa . will cost you 300.00 to be done with Eagle financing with no bad credit and no payments

Guest

Yes. Agreed. They keep that suck up freaks and they tend to run off the dedicated great drivers

Guest

did you know that Eagle Financial is owned by CR England, they found another way to scam truckers out of money. The Pay to Play plan , and if they don't like the way you play(perform) they terminate you and still expect you to pay for their *** schooling

yeah they failed to disclose that their own financial company would come after us. and hold our license's hostage for the 6 mo term of the contract.

I have since let my license go back to a class c and am no longer trying to drive.

Long disappointing road

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My son got on a bus to Harrisburg, PA on 2/14/16. We live in Philadelphia. He was told school was full and could not attend. Today is April 2. He is still waiting placement on a truck with trainer. He completed training which was longer than promised because they were short trainers. He passed license and finished orientation on March 21. He was advised he may be waiting for a trainer for one to two weeks. He asked if he could leave hotel and was given permission. On March 28 he was told he was allowed to leave but not go home and was taken off roster for placement. I immediately took him back that evening. He was told he would be on truck by end of week. Now his only options are take route from Hershey plant with own transportation back and forth from hotel ( where he must stay) or they will send him to Virginia on Monday to be placed with trainer and there is no guarantee how long to wait. So in meantime, he sits in hotel, with no money, no income waiting for them to place him. It is a good thing he is young with no family and we are able to help out so far but is beginning to take strain. Makes no sense that he cannot wait this out at home where it would be cheaper or be placed for training at closer facility. My advice. Look elsewhere. He is stuck here now until contract is complete, which is by the way, 9 Months from start of training. Can't imagine how long that will be at this point. And I could show proof of ignorance from managers that he has dealt with that treat people like cattle.

I went to there school in cedar hill tx, after graduation and orientation I was allowed to go home and wait for phase 1 trainer. In Texas the policy is, you can wait at home if you live within 75 miles. , the trainer showed up two days later and away I went.

Over Blown Reviews

My wife and I worked for CR England for 7 years. Factually speaking, most people that complain about the Company have brought upon themselves. England has a high freight volume and an upfront policy regarding work ethic, which is explained to everyone from day 1. As a person who was a Safety Ambassador for the Company, I can assure you that Safety and the use of Common Sense are the most important to the Company and the Customers they serve. If you utilize the tools available to you and communicate problems in the field, then you will be a success. We now own our own Truck as O/O and still stay in contact. Most people coming into the Industry think this is easy money and little work, when in fact, it requires much attention to detail and a willingness to earn your stripes.

Thank you for your review. My son and his friend are beginning training in Fontana June 27.

I've been reading so many bad reviews but I assumed as you said there is lies to the story . My son has a great work ethic and is very safety conscious , I'm excited about this new venture for him

Destroyed my Life!

I drove for 4 months but i had a poor communication with my DM.I had to come back home CA,Colton for safety class. And the next thing i knew that i was terminated.Guess what after not even 15 mins. later the lady from money collection Eagle Atlantic called me and told me that they owe $4900 and can't work for next 5 more months to another Trucking Company. But however if i pay $7500 and buy the BUYOUT contract with C.R.England i can be able to work.

But the thing is i don't have my CDL hardcopy yet in my hand.So i can't apply for another Trucking Co.

They destroyed my life.

I'm writing this because i don't want anybody to suffer more and go through like i'm right now.

As an experienced driver, 20+ years, I think I'm qualified to offer, my opinion about trucking companies. Reading some of these reviews, I noticed, some complaints, are being made by "rookies " or inexperienced "steering wheel holders", no offense.

Yes there are "bad" companies, as well as "good" ones (I've driven for both) , the thing is, it's really what you make of it. It will be hard at first and you will feel mistreated or abused, but you need to remember, you're "learning" the ropes. Just like the military, they're going to try to *** out, the ones that can't handle the stress and frustration that goes with this job. Try to hang on for at least six months to a year, gain the experience and confidence to drive in any situation, you might encounter, (city, mountain, snow, ice, rush hour, backing in tight places, etc) then if you want to leave, go.

At least, you'll meet the minimum requirements for most big companies. Then after a few years, you'll be able to run the way you want, where you want, and go home when you want. You've earned it as a "veteran " driver. Above all, always give a company a chance.

Sometimes the road is a little rough at first (pun intended) but it will smooth out.

Believe in yourself , dont let anyone else "drive" your truck. Good luck, and keep the shiny side up ;-)

Guest

I was told by the recruiter I would only be gone 2 weeks for school. I haven't been home in 3 months.

My wife is leaving me and I'm gonna not get fair custody of my child while I'm stuck out here on this contract. I just sit in the truck and think about how my life is ruined because I thought cr England was going to be a good company that's honest and take care of people

Guest

After finding all the free internet info on this company

(CR England ) , you find out of all the scams and ways they use to screw and extort their trucker employees . Get a Lawyer, the courts surely must be getting tired of dealing with this BS company.

Guest

another sham trucking company. you are NOT alone.

tip> go to school, learn a trade, have a life. forget trucks.

Guest

Thank you.

Guest

So just why did they fire you? You make an extremely vague statement which could effect other lives as well.

I don't believe for a minute that out of the blue a company that's been around for 90 years did what you say.

My guess is you're leaving out the part that involves you and your way of doing things. If you're a generation X'er then, at this time, I don't believe anything you say, I'd even go as far as to say your whole story is a fabrication even the part where you claim to have even driving a truck bigger the an F150.

I though that this company knew about employee rights. I know a young man that stared taking the courses of which the subject did it very well.

However, everything promised by them are completly untruth. They trick young people to join them with a promise of good jobs conditions, excellent trainers and good wages. Do not belive it!!! It is all lies to mislead people.

In the long run, they do a huge profits with your hard and sacrifices, always on the route. Somebody should report the to the Employment Department in all States in USA.

What a joke. One day away from testing, and then disqualified because of a poor credit rating. Really? The only reason I have a poor credit rating is because I have been out of work for some time and it's not easy to make payments when you don't have any income. No chance to explain... Just pack your things, and get on with yourself. This company only seems to care about itself, and not the hardworking individual. No chance of explanation. NEXT..

Horrible CR England Experience

Updated by user Jan 08, 2016

So again I went to CR England, again I did orientation, waited to be placed on a truck, they gave me the runaround again ! I left messege and NO return call, just now called again, spoke with paul d.

Upgrade/placement and he says , " Oh, I spoke with the school manager and he said you can reappy in 6 months, again I was NEVER notified about this, again they did the samething to me. Unbelievable company !!

Original review Oct 26, 2015
Horrible experience with cr england, went through their school, they do run you through like cattle, they don't let you know what you're signing, when you ask they tell ypu we need to process so you can work ! I was warned as I started they were bad; I just figured every company someone talks smack about, but when I'm clear across state and people I don't even know! Coming up to me, saying how they went through the same company and was also treated badly and they left for another company. I was given the runaround, they rarely contacted me when I had a question, I hadto chase them, come time for my up grade/ cat; I was dumped in Utah at the main headquarters. ... Not one of the office staff was nice, all rude as ***, they have armed guards at the offices next to the hotel part of the building, ratchet experience, all I wanted to do was drive !!! They ditched me then said I abandoned my school/job. Sent me papers saying sorry it didn't work out with a 5000 dollar loan I haveto pay back! Yet they get a grant on us on top of what we are supposed to pay back... I wouldn't refer anyone to them not even my worst enemy.

CR ENGLAND THE MOST RACIST/UNFAIR/CHEAP/ COMPANY I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY 4 YEARS OF TRUCKING

I HAVE BEEN WITH CR ENGLAND FOR ONE YEAR AND FROM DAY ONE I HAD TO DEAL WITH DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM. THEY PUT ME ON A BUS TO MEET MY TRAINER WHEN I ARIVED AT THE BUS STATION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT THERE WER NO TRAINER THERE SO I HAD TO SPEND THE NIGHT AT THE GRAYHOUND BUS STATION. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY THE TRAINER ARRIVED AND WE WENT TO CALIFORNIA AND THEN HE DROP ME OFF AT SALT LAKE CITY TERMINAL.

THEN THEY PUT ME ON ANOTHER BUS TO MEET ANOTHER TRAINER.

I WENT ON A GRAY HOUND BUS FROM SALT LAKE CITY TO SPRINGFIELD.MO

I COMPLETED MY 4 WEEKS OF STEERING WHEEL HOLDING TRAINING. THE TRAINER DID NOT TEACH ME HOW TO BACK UP OR ANYTHING. AND IN THE WEEKENDS HE WOUD LEAVE ME IN THE TRUCK BY MY SELF AND GO HOME.

THEY NEVER TREATED ME WITH RESPECT AND GETTING HOME WAS ALWAYS A PROBLEM. THE TRUCK AND LOAD ARE MORE IMPORTANT MORE THAN ANYTHING.

My trainer also did not teach me backing skills and left me in the truck for a day and a half while he went home. I lived in CA at the time near the Colton, Facilty.

I was stuck in Phoenix for those weekends. Extending my training to about 6 weeks.

may i ask for clarification....

when you say ' Left ' you in truck while trainer went home,

do you mean literally??? like no hotel room stay, for the weekend,

(day & half) while trainer gone.

Had to eat and sleep in truck???

that kind of being left in truck???

Guest

As it may have accorded to you, there is a better way to receive your CDL. Go to a school, that teaches the functions of the vehicle.

Preferably from the state you live in. Then, go for the job.

My husband had his CDL since 1986. He quit trucking in 2013 for personal reasons. England offered a refreshing course, but we told them we were moving to Fl. The recruiter said:quote"tell them you move by the end of the training and they will get you a position in FL(Orlando). Happens that is only for old timer employee's. There's only OTR and my husband will be in a couple of weeks unemployed and he quit his last job. Two trainers, both pigs. I say this because both of them didn't care about if he needed to go to the bathroom, eat or contact his family. These trainers are not trained to give what they are supposedly to do. Only to them concerned the money they do for each trainee they mess up. This company is no professional at all... Thanks God my husband don't have to be hold with the nine months after you get the CDL. God will provide!!!! Open your ayes...CREngland is a Beast oven.

Alone in Seattle

my husband went through cr England school, I was very nervous because of everything I read. I will tell you that he started in July and it is November and he makes just enough money to feed himself. I am able to pay the bills and mortgage through my job and our savings. I guess I am lucky. My daughter got married in oct and he put in for time off a month ahead. He wasent able to make it back in time. I have also read that you have to work a year before you make more than what it takes to feed yourself. It is also a very lonely life. They told my husband that he would be home 3 days a month, I haven't seen him in 2. Sooooooooo, I don't know what is ahead but will write about it as soon as I find out. Good luck to all of you out there who are trying. Be safe.

CR ENGLAND SCAMS VETERANS AND FAMILY MEMBERS

*************DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE (DOD)********* MUST OPEN AN INVESTIGATION ON CR ENGLAND. WE MET COUPLES VETERANS AND FAMILITY MEMBERS WHO ARE BEING SCAMED BY CR ENGLAND TRUCK COMPANY. RECRUITERS TELL THEM TO REGISTER AT THE SCHOOL AND THEY WILL WORK FOR 6 MONTHS, IT'S ABSOLUTELY WRONG. FIRST OF ALL, ITS MORE TIME THAN THAT AND THEY'RE FIRED THEM BEFORE THE DUE DATE OF THE CONTRACT AND THEY SEND THEIR NAMES ON CREDIT REPORT. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS TRUCK COMPANY IS TO CHARGE THOSE VETERANS BECAUSE THEY HAVE GI BILL. WE READ A COUPLE LETTERS IN WHICH THEY ASK THEM TO USE THEIR GI BILL TO COVER THE BILL.

CREngland, they don't tell you much in the beginning so they can lower you into their program, then they make you pay to get the permit and then once that's done they make you sign a contract that crengland will pay the full amount (bs because they own the school) and if you drop out you owe them $9000, or there's the door, so of coarse you sign because they make it sound good and all, but that point you sign Don't expect to go home for at least 2 months because you do the schooling of about 17 days you graduate and that same day you get on a truck with a trainer and you are hired. You then are out all over the country living in a rig and showering maybe twice a week because you have no money to to pay for your food and a $13 shower. You do that for about a month, then a then you do another class called upgrade and you get on a separate truck, and also another newbie with you and you have to work a week before you can request time off, once you request it, it takes almost 2 weeks to get the time approved, if so. But I've been with this company for less then a year and the people that you deal with on a day to day process don't care about you, there rude, and the company looks every which way to jip you of your money and it happens every paycheck, if it wasn't that I signed that *** contract, I wouldn't have stuck around this long, it's a good school, but a *** company to drive for, but as the customer it's a great company.

They are a horrible company to work for!! How they stayed in business this long is beyond me.

That contract is a joke. They start you at $.12 a mile? That is no money. By the time they take child support and taxes, I have maybe $100.

That is no money. I left, but am coming back to finish this nine month contract. i have 4 months left, then I am gone!!! If it wasn't for that, I would tell them where to stick their pay and trucks.

They are forcing you to team with people who have no clue how to back, drive, or anything.

I am more of a trainer than a team person. Ridiculous!!
